Do Catalyst accessories work on iPhones and Androids?

Yes! Though the interaction is a little different between the two platforms. 

For iPhones X and up, NFC is always turned on. Once an iPhone reads your Catalyst accessory, it will display a notification and the information can be saved to the phone. 

For Androids, NFC is a setting which can be turned on and off in the pull-down menu or the Settings app. Once on, it will read the accessory and prompt a download through a browser, like Chrome. 

iPhones always have their NFC antennas towards the top center of the phone, while Android makers have moved their antenna around, from mid-center to towards the top of the phone. 

Is an app or camera necessary to use my Catalyst accessory?

Nope! All of your info is programmed onto the accessory, and the other person doesn’t need an app to receive your info. Your profile is downloaded through an internet browser, which every smartphone has. The info saves into their phone book (also known as "Contacts"). 

Your information is transmitted by NFC (Near-Field Communication). However, if someone is using an older phone or unable to turn the NFC antenna on, they can use their camera for the QR code, if your accessory has one printed (Card, Kiosk, Coin, Key Fob). 

Are there any limitations to a Catalyst accessory?

The two key components in making a Catalyst smart accessory work are a modern smartphone (NFC- or QR-enabled), and internet connection (data or WiFi).

The rest of the process is getting comfortable with using your accessory. We provide a training series called CATALYST COACH to empower you to use your accessory effectively - made available by email or in the Catalyst Dashboard.  

What is the pricing on a Catalyst accessory?

The Catalyst lineup ranges in price from $40 to $100, depending on the item and customization options.

We priced our original product, the Catalyst Card, to be roughly the same financial investment as a stack of paper business cards, except Catalyst Cards exceed the functionality of paper business cards by miles. And we don't charge you to keep using it. One purchase, continuous and expanding value.

You only need to buy your Catalyst accessory once. It also gives you access to the Catalyst Dashboard, which is a suite of online features that allow you to manage your networking.
